Some people are so lame it makes my face hurt.
It's not normal for me to suddenly come back here and journal but hey, it's all in dA anyway-- so, today we talk about something quite serious.
It's a form of art theft, but not outrightly so.
This, my friends, is not a case of stealing an entire image as is, but rather concepts. It's not any of my work, but rather a talented companion who seems to constantly suffer the same old shit.
People, when you "lift" a characteristic of someone else's work, superimpose it into your own work, and call it your own -- this is art theft.
Now, I'm not saying that if someone wears a red jacket and you decide to create one too of your own interpretation for your character or portrait, that's fine, it's called being "inspired"
But on the other hand, deciding one character's body art is neat and lifting that for your own work, is not so awesome.
In fact, it's disgusting.
A fine example, it's like someone deciding to rip off that square smiley face in Bon Jovi's Have a Nice Day video and calling it your own.
My point, it's iconic, what makes you think you can get away without someone noticing?
I can't do much but to alert some of you that there are such scum balls who decide they like something enough they take it without a second thought.
I swear, it's very sad.
It's like someone stealing the facial tattoo's from pu-sama's character Mystic, or the panda tattoo from bonhwa's character Kim.
The problem here is that when something is less advertised, no one is jumping on anyone's head. But I'm just irritated it happens.
In my opinion, especially for roleplayers and those of us who hold characters and character creation/concepts/development near and dear, be it you are a writer or artist, there isn't a greater sin besides ripping something from someone else just in the creation of your crappity one-dimensional mary/gary-sue god moder.
I can't say much for these people anyways, their lives likely revolve around obsessing over their apparent lameness and then playing mmorpgs while ripping on the side.
Heck, who knows. I don't want to imagine how bland someone's life has to be before they need to resort to other people's minds to supply creativity.
I'd be insulting scum if I draw a comparison here, and heck, scum may be our future in alternative bio fuels -- so even scum is more useful than these Rippers.
If you spot one? Grab your lawn mowers and aim for the face, it's said to kill them faster than the sun to vampires.
If you own a semi-truck though? even better! run them over.

PS. I'm allowed to be pissed over someone else's work because as a fan of it, I'd really hate to see them delete everything they've ever done and leaving dA.
